Learning to Follow Our True North

This week in Wild Bible Adventures, we kicked off our 7-week journey by asking a big question:

Who is Jesus?

Kids learned that Jesus isn’t just a good teacher or a nice person in the Bible—He’s our True North. That means Jesus is the one who always points us in the right direction. He never changes. He’s always trustworthy. And He gives us the best foundation for our lives.

📖 What We Explored

We looked at what it means to build our lives on something strong—like a rock! In the Bible, Jesus says:

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise.” – Matthew 7:24

Just like a builder who makes sure a house stands on strong ground, we become wise when we listen to Jesus and do what He says. Kids experienced this idea with a fun compass craft and even a game about giving directions. We also talked about how Jesus helps us know what to do when life feels confusing or hard.

🏡 Keep the Conversation Going at Home

Here are a few simple ways to reinforce this week’s lesson at home:

💬 Ask your child:

  • Who helps you know the right way to go? (Answer: Jesus!)

  • Why do you think it’s important to have a strong foundation?

  • Can you think of a good choice you made this week?

🙏 Try this prayer prompt:

Ask each family member:

  1. What are you thankful for today?

  2. Who do you want to pray for?

  3. How do you want to grow closer to God this week?

📚 Memory Verse to practice:

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise.”—Matthew 7:24 (NLT)

We’re excited to keep following Jesus together each week. Next time, we’ll explore what to do when we have questions or wonder about things—and how we can trust Jesus even then.

Thanks for partnering with us in building a strong spiritual foundation for your kids!

Let’s keep pointing them to Jesus—our True North!
