Tending the fire of faith in every season

Key Verse: “Never let the fire in your heart go out. Keep it alive. Serve the Lord.”— Romans 12:11 (NIRV)

July invites us into the middle of the year—long days, warm nights, and the space between what has been and what’s still coming. For those serving in children’s ministry, it’s often a month of tension: a lull before fall programming begins, a moment of rest after the joyful chaos of VBS, and maybe even a quiet question lingering in your spirit: How do I keep going?

This month, we’re centering ourselves around the idea of a steady flame; a fire of faith that doesn’t flicker out when the calendar slows or the crowds thin. Not a wildfire that burns fast and burns out, but a flame that’s nurtured, guarded, and fueled by the Spirit.

This Steady Flame devotional series will help us:

  • Stay spiritually fueled when schedules shift

  • Find strength in daily faithfulness, not emotional highs

  • Reflect on the small, sacred rhythms that keep us rooted

  • And remember that serving the Lord is not about striving—it’s about showing up with Him

Whether you're prepping for fall ministry or soaking in a slower season, this month is an invitation to tend the fire. To let God breathe fresh life into your spirit and to trust that even in the quiet, your light matters.

Let’s walk into July with intention. Let’s keep the fire alive.
